Mark and Jan Marie are founders and owners of Seattle Bites Food Tours. Jan’s loves world-travel, has a culinary education as well as a corporate background in the creative world of The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios Hollywood and Paramount Pictures. Mark spent a great deal of his career with Procter & Gamble as well as many years as a business consultant helping departments within Fortune 500 companies with their strategic business plans. Mark and Jan Marie went to high school together, began dating when they “re-met” each other at their 10-year high school reunion and have been married for 28 years.
Leaving the world of corporate sales behind her Marla began her search for the perfect opportunity to engage with people in ways different than before. She had traveled the world experiencing the culture, food and people in such faraway places as Portugal, South Africa, Argentina and American Samoa. Marla’s quick-wit and fun-loving personality marry perfectly with her talents for entertaining and public speaking making her the ideal tour host for Seattle Bites Food Tours.
Amy comes to us with a background in the performing arts and education, having spent the last ten years teaching high school English and Theatre and receiving her graduate degree in Theatre Education from New York University. In addition, she actively seeks opportunities to combine her love of food and travel, always planning her next adventure.
Her life is shared with her husband Chris, puppy Earl and turtle, Turtle.
All this, including her Irish heritage, makes her a natural storyteller, and a perfect fit as a tour host for Seattle Bites Food Tours.
Chip Wood is a stage and voice actor who’s appeared in Rent, Titanic, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Crucible. His film and television appearances include Dallas, Chase, and The Good Guys. He has ten audiobook titles on Amazon that include his recent performance of Michael Berrier’s In the Company of Thieves. He was a member of the Cruise Director’s staff for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines for three years, and is now thrilled to be a part of Seattle Bites Food Tours, combining his love of history and the culinary arts.
David Thomas grew up with a dad in the food business and went on to study history in college and graduate school. Throw in his background in teaching, and it’s the perfect combination for bringing the past and present of the Market alive with Seattle Bites Food Tours. When he’s not touring, David roams the galleries of Seattle Art Museum as part of the security team or hides in the library to work on his history Ph.D. dissertation. He lives in Seattle with his wife Dyana. His infectious smile, engaging personality and wit make him the perfect Tour Host for our guests.
